Duties and Responsibilities
1) Reports to the University of Iowa
Administration, Student Government, and Student Broadcasters, Incorporated.
This includes attending SBI meetings, and maintaining an open communication
with the above bodies.
2) Responsible for maintenance of
station's financial management. In coordination with the Finance
Director, create a budget for forthcoming school year, to be approved
by Student Government.
3) Responsible for maintenance and
renewal of Federal Communication Commission FM radio license.
Maintenance of Public File shall be overseen with the Administration
Department.
4) Appoint directorship positions
when the positions become open, with approval of SBI and Student Government
(See Hiring Procedure).
5) Serve as public representative
of the station, and is the only person authorized to enter the station
into contractual agreement or expend student funds allocated to the
organization.
6) Oversees all station activities
including programming, operations, finance, and promotions
7) Maintain all staff relations.
(See: Grievance Procedure).
8) Evaluate Directors in accordance with
Evaluation Procedure.
9) Attend all management meetings.
10) Other duties as needed.
11) The General Manager is required to fulfill 15 hours of office time per week.
The General Manager shall be supervised by Student Broadcasters, Incorporated, Student Government, and the University of Iowa Administration.
The General Manager shall supervise all KRUI Directors and Staff members.
